Laser Glassified Ceramic Mosaic Tile

These mosaic tiles reflect the intertwined relationships between a medium and opportunities to exploit methods of manipulation available through “new” technology. The surfaces of these hand-made ceramic tiles (earthenware, stoneware, and porcelain) were glassified using a CO2 laser. To produce the wide, 2mm lines of glass, the laser was purposely used out-of-focus.
